im sure these are hydraulic clutch you may find that the small eye on the master cylinder that connects to the pedal is about to fall off ford did arecall and put a small clip on the pedal to cure this

thankyou keith for the info, you were right it is the master cylinder clutch actuating rod eye slipping on the clutch pedal peg which it is attached to. the slipping is the rod clicking back and forth.

however fords answer was to just spray it with wd40 which made it worse as then it slipped even more. i then had new clip fitted but in fact that just push off again once the pedal was operated.

i have now drilled a pilot hole of 2mm through the near end of the peg for the purpose of using a split pin to keep on the retaining clip washer.

you can gain access by removing the lower dash part to see better then if your accurate with a drill you just get access to do it.

it works fine now with no noise whatsoever

thanks again hope this info helps someone else
