hello i have a 95 model astra 1.4 ls i seam to get a creaking noise from the clutch cable when i press it down or release it i personally think its the clutch cable what do you think and the other question is i replaced my alternater after battery light on the dash and it was the alternater not charging battery and replaced with an second hand and after a year it's making a chirping noise at idle and when driving do you thinks its the alternater pulley i also replaced the belt on it an how do you distinguish this problem

hi mate,definately the clutch cable,sometimes one of the twinned wires in the inner cable breakes and can make the pedal seem a bit heavier than normal.
the noise your getting from pully on alternator,have you checked tension of belt?when engine ticking over,try spraying some wd40 down onto alternator to see if this stops it.

it may be just the spring that holds the cable in the pedal try spraying wd40 around this area then grease it if it stops
