Gamini Dassanayake Daewoo Cielo 1.5L 1996 i detected a water leak from the water pump (water started dripping for a few minutes when the engine stopped) and my mechanic replaced the water pump using a genuine korean made water pump. now, there is a heavy water leak from the front end of the engine and it happens only sometimes. about 80 percent of the time i drive the car and stop the engine it leaks water. this leak is much more severe (flow resembles a half open tap) than the dripping problem i originally had. however, every time i take the car to the mechanic to show him the leak, it does not leak. my mechanic has also taken the car for a couple of test drives and it did not leak. without being able to see the leak, my mechanic is unable to detect, evaluate or fix the problem. your advice for any checks that we can do on the vehicle is appreciated.  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 15/11/2005

graeme ever had a oil leek  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 24/11/2005   bandrooooo dear gamini the cielo water hoses are fitted with spring clips rather than screw clips. they can sometimes cause problems. it may be worth checking to see that you do not have a loose hose connection which might only leak when the system is hot and consequently under pressure. good luck!  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 27/12/2005   stef thats what i would do and also when you see the leak try to see where it is and mark it with some nail polish then see your mechanic could also be an airlock expanding try removing the cap from the header tank not the rad and let the car idle fo a bit so it can push the water around more freely this might shift the air lock if there is one.  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 16/01/2006   mark i also have this problem with my nexia it only leaks when turned of and it is just the clips  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 28/03/2007
