| it's sounds like the "switch" on the gear box has gone faulty try bypassing it and if it cures the fault just replace the switch.... |

yes you could bypass but simply get a screw driver & scratch the sockets were the bulbs go in they might not be getting a connection to the bulb you sometimes on an old car get a build up of dirt on the connection boards were the bulbs sit & this stops them working or the wiring going into your light socket could be rotted or the wiring come loose in the white connection socket that fits into your light unit, saves messing around bypassing if not needed, this solved the problem i had with mine.
