got a fiat cinquecento 899 petrol. starts first time every time when cold. park it up then when try to start it while hot(not cold) it just turns over and doesnt fire. when it does start eventually it runs perfect. took it to fiat dealer who suggested changing rpm sensor(acts on crank alternator belt pulley) and a faulty injector. both of these have been changed but still same problem and the injector light on dash comes on. does this indicate any other fault apart from injector? any help would be appreciated so i dont have to go and pay another £70 quid just to plug it into a computer.
hi mark, dont know if you have fixed the problem yet but before you start the car switch on the ignition and wait for the injector light to go out before turning over the engine. another thing to do is put the accelerator to the floor and turn over the engine after 5 seconds release the accelerator and it should go. if this doesnt help then the fuel pump might not be working properly or isnt recieving the information from the engine managment to start pumping the fuel. hope this helps.
