the mechanism is built inside the the door lock module, it is a common failure of the microswitch and you would need to replace the the drivers door lock module. as the car doesnt recieve any signal that the door has been opened therefore the interior light will not illuminate and also if you have your lights on and open the drivers door you will not hear the buzzer/chime.
if you have central locking then the car will auto lock after about 30 seconds as it has not reconised the drivers door being opened and there is danger of locking your keys in the car if you leave your keys in the car and get out and close the door. |
