try holding key fob close to the lock and pressing
three or four times in quick succession on either button. if this dosen't work then suspect keyfob battery of faulty keyfob . i believe you can unlock the imobiliser by using the key in the lock and putting in the code. the code can be obtained from your local rover dealer on presentation of proof of ownership (registration document). they will also tell you sequence of putting in code. hope this helps.
