Question
 MART NISSAN ALMERA 1392 1999
every now and then i struggle to get into gear. in fact on occasions it's impossible. however 99\% of the time it's fine. there's no rhyme nor reason to it, as i can drive somewhere perfectly ok, park up and then can't get into gear.however if i switch off and try again it's fine. any ideas? had the problem for about three months.

i had exactly the same problem and symptoms on my nissan. basically it sounds like your clutch has gone. thrust bearing is probably damaged and its not fully disengaging. i can tell you that it will cost you about £450 to replace via a garage, or £130 for the parts if you do it your self.

i have the same problem with my 2000 almera, and so does a friend who also has one. i think its a trait of the car, doesnt necessarily mean the clutch has gone...
