car was running fine untill parked it up one night and went to start it next morning a noticed its got a loud tapping noise (sounds more like a diesel now) can anyone please tell me why or what this is and how to fix it ?thanks
check oil level, it can be normal for tappets to be noisey at start up but should quieten off after a couple of seconds as the hydraulic tappets fill with oil.
