D. Lowe Renault Campus Prima 1.4 (C3J engine code) 1995 (M) i have great difficulty starting the engine from cold, often it takes 4 or 5 attempts. there is no problem after about 5 miles once the engine is warm. it is monopoint injection, but it feels like the "choke" is not working. i have ruled out the ecu by exchanging with another. all the connectors in the engine bay look in good order. what do you think is the likely cause and/or what should i check next?  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 29/11/2004

Lowe my thoughts exactly, not long after posting the question. i now have a resistor of almost the same value as the temp. sensors are supposed to have when cold. with luck, i can substitute the resistor for the real sensors one-by-one until i find the culprit. i'll believe it when i see it etc...  CLICK HERE to post your answer/comment Date Posted 09/12/2004
