please can someone help me with this. the key fob isnt working everytime on the central locking, when i insert the key into the ignition the dashboard lights all come on and most stay on permanant. the time clock goes back to 0:00. the speedo clocks needles move rapidly but only moving a centimeter or so. the car wont start its like the batterys low, but im using the car on a daily basis but not on long journeys. mainly the school runs and shopping trips etc. and finally when i release the handbrake the lights still stay on. anyone any ideas, i would really appreciate it . thankyou in advance
first replace keyfob battery only about 1pound from rs conponents 08457 201 201 next, disconnect carbattery negative first, then the red one, measure batt voltage with a meter set to dc volts should be about 12.5 to 12.65 volts this means batt is fully charged, if its down around 10 or 11 volts it needs charging ,if its turning car over slowly its discharged in this state all sorts of wierd things can happen cos voltage is low best is to take off car and fully charge for 24 hours on a trickle charge good luck
