when starting her up she doesnt seem to idle, she will go up to 1000revs then she drops down and stalls. you have to repeat the process three or four times before she kicks in, even after a 3 hour journey, once she stops she'll do it again like the engine is cold. could the automatic choke be to blame, all the coil packs have been changed also the cam belt has just been changed. ive had this cars for a week and already its gone back to the garage with the same fault twice and still no difference.
also the stearing is really creaky, not matter when your stearing left or right it creaks loudly.
apparently all 1.4 16v renault cars were recalled in 2002 r/2001/159, due to bad conector on the throttle housing. i found the fault on the vosa website, im still fighting with the garage i bought it off and renault want to put it on their diagnostic machine as the fault will only appear on their equipment.
so if you have a renault 1.4 16v with a hesitant engine and idling instability, you know its down to the car having mgi motorised throttle housing and a sirius 34 injection computer and the problem is due to the incorrect locking of the connector to the throttle housing,so on that light does anybody know where i can get a proper connection for the throttle housing. lol
