hi
i seem to have a fault on my car. i was driving home today and the exhaust emmissions light came on the car, seems to be running fine tho.. i replaced 2coil packs last week and had a full service done. would it be related? alot of people are saying its a common thing with the golf that its not serious.. but its doing my head in!!!!!

| hi i have a problem with my key fob it was working the other day now it wont i have to put the key in the door lock to open the door i normaly press the top button twice that locks the doors and sets the emoberliser nothing happens now last time this happend some one put the key in egnition turned it took it out and it work can you plaese tel me the combonation he used pleas thank you |

| when cold my engine spins and starts perfectly, but when its been running for a while and hot and i try to restart, it spins the engine for ages before firing up. this must flatten my battery because if i stop/start too many times the next morniing i have a flat battery. any ideas please ? |

| hi, had my rover 416i for a few years and had the usual problems and resolved with minimal pain and expence but...the car has recently started making a knocking sound [coming from the engine/gearbox] when its in 5th gear. kind of sounds a bit like a train on the tracks [clickty click, clickty click etc] dosent do this in any other gear except 5th. has anyone else had this problem and if so is it time to ditch or can it be easily rectified? |

| hello i have a 95 model astra 1.4 ls i seam to get a creaking noise from the clutch cable when i press it down or release it i personally think its the clutch cable what do you think and the other question is i replaced my alternater after battery light on the dash and it was the alternater not charging battery and replaced with an second hand and after a year it's making a chirping noise at idle and when driving do you thinks its the alternater pulley i also replaced the belt on it an how do you distinguish this problem |

in my previous post i stated the car was 1992 but is in fact 2002 - sorry!!
the problem i'm having is the front windscreen demister is constatntly blowing. even if i turn the whole heater system off the demister still blows and only stops when i turn off the ignition. can anyone give me any idea what the problem might be? many thanks. |

i have this car for around a year, but recently it was left stood for three months, since then i have noticed that when changing gear up through the box the revs dropped very quickly, also when sat in neutral if you rev the engine then revs will take a few seconds before they drop.
but when changing down things are fine as will have released the accelerator for a few seconds and revs will have dropped, otherwise tickover etc is fine and so is everything else. would appreciate any help and this is an annoying little problem. |

| well tried to crank, car turned over but no fire. if u just turn it far enough to still just here the bells but not quite crank it makes a awful sounding buzzing from fuse/relay box under hood. changed the fuel pump still no good. |

| hi, bought my car from peugeot dealers 2 weeks ago, theres a loud tapping noise coming from the engine, ive sent it to be repaired as it has 12 month warrenty but they are saying there is nothing wrong with it and the tapping sound is normal with that model. also steering wheel vibrates like mad when you hit 75mph+ on motorway. also there is a humming sound coming from wheels they say this is due to having new tires on. am i going mad or is there something wrong with my car. thanks dom |

| we recently had a scaping noise and took it to the local garage. they changed the clutch and also the track rod ends and an engine bracket. the trouble is there was a worse noise when we collected it. a knocking when teh car is idling which stops when the clutch is depressed, you can hear it for a while but once at a decent speed you cannot hear it. also the scraping noise is still there particularly when reversing. the owner has tried to tell us that it is the gear box and that the clutch is working fine, a nissan concessionaire has said it is teh clutch...am i going insane or what...i do not understand cars either, just a dumb blonde buti do need my car and cannot offord another £800+ bill |
